Pre-School

We encourage children to acquire confidence, develop positive attitudes to learning and relate constructively and harmoniously to other children and adults.

We work together to build the foundations of future learning and to develop thinking skills and positive attitudes. We want children to be happy, learn and to form friendships with others.

Our experience of early year’s education ensures that learning activities are planned appropriate for each child‘s stage of development. We believe that childhood is to be enjoyed and celebrated.

The activity board in the Pre School informs parents of the activities the children are offered on a daily basis.

We plan to include as much hands-on experience as possible and to allow children’s natural curiosity to lead them into new areas of learning. We teach children how to listen, talk, engage with each other, express themselves and how to develop confidence.

We plan and provide opportunities for all children to flourish and succeed in all they do within an environment where they feel safe, comfortable and valued.

Charlotte Long, an experienced early years worker who has gained her PGCE/ master’s in education along with her Psychology BSc Honours Degree is leading our Pre-School Room.  Charlotte has been teaching for a year within a primary setting. Charlotte ensures the Pre-School are engaging in adult and child-initiated activities, exploring and developing their interests and following a structured routine which also helps in preparing them for school. Rachel Turner who has been with us for over 20 years works alongside Charlotte in the Pre-School as a key person and provides her with the support needed to ensure all children thrive, develop and flourish within each of their areas.

Jessica Pepperell is also a key person within the pre-school. Jessica is training towards her level 3 in childcare and education, while gaining a vast amount of knowledge hands on from our supportive team.
